This is more unusual and we have never owned one of these before. On its own it is a typical single shot over sized percussion box lock pocket pistol and has a 7" barrel with an overall length of 11", rather too big to be referred to as a "pocket" pistol. Allen & Thurber produced many small self protection pocket pistols of this style in the 1840's and this example is truly notable because of it's larger size. The
